Srinagar, February 26 (KNO) : The dropout aspirants of Rehbar-e-Khel Tuesday afternoon held a protest in northern Kahsmir’s Kupwara district outside DC complex, alleging favoritism and nepotism in selection of candidates for the post. Over a dozen of candidates from Drugmulla zone, holding placards, marched towards DC complex and assembled outside the DDC complex raising slogans against the Youth Service and Sports and District administration committee, which interviewed the candidates who had applied for the post of Physical Education teacher. The aggrieved candidates while talking to KNO, said on 25 January, the Rehbar-e-Khel list of district Kupwara was public, but the selection committee has framed the list with clear favoritism and nepotism by giving enough space to their relatives of employees of District Youth Services and Sports. Sakib-ul-Islam, a dropout candidate alleged that, many of the candidates who have made it to the list of Rehbar-e-Khel are Under Graduate, while as dropout students have relevant degrees including high pass percentage in their academics but having no relation with the concerned department, many deserving candidates were dropped out. He alleged that, many candidates who are in the list have produced the fake documents to make it the list, “we also have solid evidence of the same, there were clear court orders to not public the list, still the committee has framed the list without considering the orders and giving non deserving candidates the post.” Another candidate, Nisar Masoodi sought thorough probe into the selection list and urged authorities to go for re-interview of all the candidates and conduct a thorough probe into the selection list and committee that framed the final selection list.(KNO)
